Australia have suffered a blow ahead of their ODI series against Pakistan after Mitchell Marsh was ruled out with an ankle injury. With Marsh unavailable, wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis will lead Australia in the three-match ODI series, which starts on May 30 in Pakistan.
Marsh, who enjoyed an outstanding IPL 2026 season with 563 runs in 13 matches at a strike rate of 163.18, will stay back in Perth to undergo further assessment and treatment on his ankle.

Australia will play three ODIs against Pakistan, starting May 30 in Rawalpindi, with the second and third matches to be played in Lahore on June 2 and June 4, respectively.
After the Pakistan series, Australia will travel to Bangladesh for a white-ball tour but Marsh’s participation in that tour remains uncertain.
The injury adds to Australia’s growing list of absentees for the upcoming assignments, with Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc also unavailable for the Pakistan series.
Australia will play three ODIs and as many T20Is during the tour of Bangladesh. The ODIs will be played in Dhaka on June 9, June 11 and June 14, while the T20Is will be played in Chattogram on June 17, June 19 and June 21.
